Extended addressing

The introduction of extended addressing (A address range or B address range) doubles the maximum number of devices on an AS-Interface string to 62.

The basic cycle is applied alternately for all A-addressed devices and then for all B-addressed devices. The cycle time for 62 devices doubles to a maximum of 10 ms.

When addressing the A address range and B address range, extended addressing uses the output data bit DO 3 in cyclic data exchange, and the output data bit PO 3 in acyclic data exchange. Therefore, only 3 bits of output data are available for data transmission in each case.
