AS‑Interface device

Devices are actuators or sensors that are typically supplied via the AS‑Interface network. There are devices for digital data traffic and devices with larger data widths of cyclic data bits, e.g. for analog signals.

A device exchanges the requested data with the master on a cyclical basis. The communication-specific characteristics of the device in a network are described by its device profile. The device profile also determines how the data is transmitted between the master and the device.
