EL2252 connection (CamTrackToEL2252)

The CamTrackToEL2252 function block is used to connect the EL2252 digital output terminal from Beckhoff (EL2252 | EtherCAT terminal, 2-channel digital output, DC 24 V, 0.5 A, timestamp).

The EL2252 digital output terminal switches the binary output signals electrically isolated to the process level. The outputs of the EtherCAT terminal are switched with high precision to match the transmitted timestamp. The resolution is 1 µs. With this technology, switching times can be specified exactly at the outputs. The "distributed clock" is used as the reference value. Each output can be switched individually to high impedance.

INFORMATION

Only one switching time can be transferred for both outputs. This is why the function block only uses the 1st output. The minimum cam width (time-related) must not be less than 2 task cycles. At present, the "DistributedClock" of the EtherCAT must still be read in via the Beckhoff EL1252 input terminal and cyclically transferred to the function block with the property CamTrackToEL2252.uliDcTime.
