Short-circuiting modules

Short-circuit all modules of the storage bundle, even if not all modules are to be replaced. The short-circuited poles ensure that the voltage positions are the same when a new energy module is installed and that there are no asymmetries.

Proceed as follows:

  • You have set the system to a safe state according to the specifications in chapter Discharging energy storage units before service work.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connections on module 1.
  2. Short-circuit module 1 using the insulated single-core cable mentioned above.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connection on the negative pole of module 2.
  4. Short-circuit module 2 using the original connection lead between module 1 and 2.
  5. Perform steps 3 and 4 for all remaining modules of the storage bundle.
