IT security of the environment

For drive and control components that are integrated in a network (e.g. fieldbus, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet network), settings can even be made from more remote locations. This entails the danger of a parameter change that is not visible externally resulting in unexpected, but not uncontrolled system behavior, which in turn may impact negatively on operational safety and reliability, system availability, or data security.

With Wi-Fi or Ethernet-based networked systems and engineering interfaces in particular, make sure that unauthorized access is not possible. Using IT‑specific security standards, such as network segmentation, adds to the security of the ports.
