Structure of devices

Devices are displayed in CODESYS below the "EtherCAT_Master" object in the device tree. A device consists of the device object (here: MOVI_C_MOVIDRIVE (MOV-C MOVIDRIVE SingleAxis)) and two to four device slots subordinate to the object in the device tree.

Slot 1 (here: Standard_16_PD) represents the standard process data of the device. This device slot can be connected to a logical device. Slot 2 (here: Container_Profisafe) represents the safety process data area. If a safety option card is installed in the MOVI-C^® inverter, the 2nd slot can have a safety routing component plugged into it.

The MOVI-C^® single axis (system or modular) has one standard and one safety process data slot. The MOVI-C^® double axis has two standard and two safety slots accordingly. The following graphic shows the structure of a single axis and the structure of a double axis:
