Encoder/safety encoder
The brake test requires a motor encoder as encoder feedback to the inverter. If the brake test is evaluated in a safety-related system, e.g. in accordance with the Performance Level (PL), the encoder must be designed as a safety encoder. You can select the following encoders from SEW-EURODRIVE in the "Assist CS..." parameterization tool:
- ES7S/EG7S/EK8S
- AS7W/AG7W/EK8W/AK8W/AK8H
- EK0H/AK0H/EK1H/AK1H
- EK0Z/AK0Z/EK8Z/AK8Z/EK9Z
The EK0Z, AK0Z, A.7W, AK.H, EK8W, AK8W and EK9Z encoders/safety encoders, in addition to the incremental signals, also provide single-turn/multi-turn absolute signals (RS485, HIPERFACE® or MOVILINK® DDI). The CS..A safety option only uses the incremental sin/cos signals of the respective encoder for the brake test.
Encoder configuration
- The encoder must be configured for speed or position control in the inverter, drive train 1.
CSS..A/CSA31A
- The encoder must be configured in the Assist CS.. parameterization tool.
CSA31A
- The encoder must be selected as process value or comparison value in the function assignment "Speed and acceleration" or "Position".
