Waste heat

Ensure that the cooling fins can dissipate waste heat into the environment by free
convection.

You can ensure optimum heat convection as follows:

  • Use SEW-EURODRIVE mounting systems or suitable spacers, e.g.:
    • Spacers
    • Profiles
    • Square pipes
    • Mounting plates
    • T-carriers
    • Rails
  • Ensure that the cooling fins are not located in a closed hollow space.
  • Observe the minimum clearance of 15 mm between the highest cooling fin and
    the next surface, e.g. a mounting plate.
  • Avoid heat sources in the immediate proximity of the device.
