Rubber rollers

2 insulators rubbing against each other results in a static charge. In intralogistics, this is the case if, for example, a plastic container is conveyed on a belt conveyor. If the carrier rollers have a plastic or rubber coating, steady discharge of the electrostatically charged body against the conveyor frame side is not possible. There is the risk that charges discharge locally and in an uncontrolled way. Fieldbus controllers installed at the conveyor might be disturbed or damaged. If rubber rollers are used, SEW‑EURODRIVE recommends installing several discharge devices (e.g. ESD brushes) along the track.
