Operating principle

The operating mode for operation without energy storage unit (Fallback) separates the energy storage unit from the DC link if the energy storage unit is connected via "Active DC synchronization". When using the additional function "Inrush current limiter", the operating mode waits for the user to manually disconnect the energy storage unit. Automatic disconnection is not possible in this case. This step is skipped if the energy storage unit was already disconnected. The DC link voltage is then loaded again to the value configured in MOVISUITE®. The parameter Target charge level (50100.28) is used as the value for state of charge control (StateOfChargeControl) and as the power limit for the application limit (parameter 8800.7).

In the configuration of the operating mode in MOVISUITE®, you can also use "Fallback mode – deactivation of energy storage error messages" (50100.50) to set whether energy storage error messages are to be suppressed during operation without energy storage. Energy storage error messages will then be suppressed in this operating mode and are no longer displayed for the customer with error code and error bit in the main error interface. Active error messages of the energy storage system can then be reset. Observe the following conditions for the various configuration states:

  • 1 synchronization contactor in minus pole
  • The load-break switch must be deactivated so that the energy storage unit is disconnected from the DC link in all poles.
  • 2 synchronization contactors (minus and plus poles)
  • Disconnection of all poles is automatic. No further manual switching operations are required.
  • Using the additional inrush current limiter function
  • The circuit breaker/disconnector must be open.
