Operating principle

When automatic mode is activated, the system checks whether an energy storage unit has been configured to be connectable and is connected via "Active DC synchronization". If it is configured to be connectable but is not connected, the operating mode connects the energy storage unit autonomously. If the energy storage unit is connected via the additional function inrush current limiter, the operating mode waits for the energy storage unit to be connected via the circuit breaker or disconnector. The system continues as soon as the inrush current limiter signals the connection of the energy storage unit and the bridging of the dropping resistor via xStorageConnected. The DC link is then charged to the parameterized Target charge level (50100.28) and the voltage is maintained at this value. Recharging is performed with the parameterized Target charge limit (parameter 50100.29).

The following variants are permitted:

  • An energy storage unit that can be connected is parameterized and "Active DC synchronization" is set as the "Storage connection variant". In this case, the energy storage unit is automatically connected before operational readiness is established.
  • A connectable energy storage unit is parameterized and "Inrush current limiter" is set as the "Storage connection variant". In this case, the user waits for the energy storage unit to be connected.
  • A permanently connected energy storage unit is parameterized.
  • No energy storage unit is parameterized.
