Installation

No libraries are installed directly when the software is installed. Libraries are installed via a separate installation file.

During installation, the configuration files contained in a library are stored in the directory Libraries in the root directory of the software (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\libraries) as password-protected zip archives and are loaded automatically the next time the software is started. If a collision occurs because an object with the same name is to be loaded via the function Import of default settings, the newer object is read and used according to the "Change time" metadata.

To install a library, proceed as follows:

  • The installation file of the library (SmartDataCollector-Library-Setup-X.msi) has been downloaded and is available locally.
  • Your user has administrator rights on the computer.
  1. Open the SmartDataCollector-Library-Setup-X.exe installation file.
    • The installation wizard opens.
  2. Follow the installation wizard.
    • After accepting the license agreement and specifying the target directory, the library will be installed on your computer.
  • The configuration files contained in the library are stored in the directory Libraries in the root directory of the software (default path: C:\ProgramData\SEW\SmartDataCollector\libraries) as password-protected zip archives.
  • The objects contained in the library are available the next time the software is started.
