Description

Energy storage unit

Setting of the energy storage unit and other capacities integrated in the application as the basis for calculations. Internal device capacities need not be taken into account.

  • DC connection energy storage unit can be disconnected – The energy storage unit can be disconnected from the DC link or the connected device on all poles via a corresponding contactor or load-break switch circuit.
  • Default value: No
  • Electrostatic nominal capacity – capacity of the connectable energy storage unit. Only visible if "DC connection energy storage unit separable" has the value "Yes".
  • Default value: 0 F
  • Output stage side – side of the output stage to which the nominal electrostatic capacitance is connected. Only visible if "DC connection energy storage unit separable" has the value "Yes".
  • Default value: A-side
  • Fixed capacitance application (A‑side) – capacitance of fixed energy storage units on the A‑side of the output stage.
  • Default value: 0 mF
  • Fixed capacitance application (B‑side) – capacitance of fixed energy storage units on the B‑side of the output stage. This option is only available when using MDE90A.
  • Default value: 0 mF

Fuse protection

INFORMATION: The parameterized voltage limits are applied to the storage side. If the energy storage unit is connected to the A‑side, the limits apply to the DC link. If the energy storage unit is connected to the B‑side, the limits apply to the B‑side.

The additional function "fuse protection" is set using the following parameters:

  • Fuse protection – activate
  • Default value: No
  • Fuse protection – type of fuse protection
  • Default value: Multi-stage fuse concept
  • Fuse protection
    Switching threshold current limitation OFF
  • Default value: 0 V
  • Fuse protection
    Switching threshold current limitation ON
  • Default value: 0 V
  • Multi-stage fuse concept
    Nominal fuse rating
  • Information: A permanent load capacity of the fuse of 80% of the nominal value is assumed and applied accordingly as a limit.
  • Default value: 0 A

Modular residual current device

The modular residual current device is set using the following parameters:

  • MRCD installed
  • Activates the control and monitoring of an installed MRCD.
  • MRCD test interval
  • An MRCD test cycle must be performed within this time. Otherwise, a warning message appears stating that a test must be performed.

Energy storage monitoring

Setting of energy storage monitoring using the following parameters:

  • Temperature offset of external energy storage modules
  • Temperature offset, for correcting the cooling of the external energy storage modules. These tend to be a few degrees cooler during operation than energy storage modules in the middle of the stack since they have large outer surfaces and can therefore emit more heat to the environment. This slightly cooler measuring temperature is corrected by the temperature offset so that the temperatures match on average the module temperatures of the modules arranged in the middle of the stack, and the check for implausible measured values is not activated incorrectly.
  • Default value: 5 °C
  • Maximum temperature difference of the energy storage modules
  • Maximum difference by which the temperatures of the energy storage modules may deviate from one another. A larger temperature difference in individual modules compared to the median of the entire measurements indicates, for example, a defective measuring sensor.
  • Default value: 10 °C
