Terminal driver

The manual terminal driver is used to connect measured values from an unknown source. Therefore, the terminal driver has the respective measured values as input variables:

The software module queries these values and the user can transfer the measured and calculated measured values. After transfer, these values are included in the usual evaluation and calculation process.

Other terminal drivers may have variables directly in the data type that the terminal uses as a measured variable. The following code example shows the input variables of the terminal driver for the Beckhoff EL3403 terminal:

This terminal driver provides variables in DINT format. These can be linked directly in the SBUSPLUS mapping of the terminal. This eliminates the need for intermediate variables and the terminal driver can pick up the measured values directly for automatic conversion.
