Deactivating axes (bits 0 to 3)

Individual axes in the group of axes can be deactivated in the MulltiAxisController control word using bits 0 to 3. The deactivated axes then enter "output stage inhibit" state and the brake is applied (if a brake is installed). This can be used, for example, for service purposes.

Brake release of the vertical drive brake

WARNING

No brake function due to activated manual brake release.

Serious or fatal injuries.

• Eliminate any hazards that may arise from the malfunction of the brake.
  For example, lower hoists and remove material to be conveyed from sloping conveyor belts.

If the controller inhibit on the axis is set (activate bit 13 in the "Output stage inhibit" control word), the brake of the drive (bit 3 – Release brake). The brake is only released if the output stage inhibit is activated first and then the brake is released afterwards.

On a MultiAxisController axis group, all brakes of the lower-level stations are released.
