Reference travel

In the configuration of the MOVIKIT® StackerCrane MultiAxisController, the configuration menu "Controller functions" in the submenu "Reference travel" limits the selection of reference travel types to the following choices:

Parameter name

Value

Reference travel

Reference travel type

Information: When selecting the reference travel types with limit switches, make sure that the limit switch evaluation configured in the configuration menu "Hardware limit switches" is used.

  • Deactivated
  • Referencing is not possible.
  • Positive limit switch
  • With this reference travel type, referencing is performed to the positive hardware limit switch. The first search direction is positive. A reference cam is not required.
  • Negative limit switch
  • With this reference travel type, referencing is performed to the negative hardware limit switch. The first search direction is negative. A reference cam is not required.
  • Referencing without reference travel (with enable)
  • With this reference travel type, referencing is performed to the current position at the time when the drive function is activated. No check is performed to determine whether the drive is stopped. This reference travel type can be used, for example, to determine a relative movement since the last reference travel.
  • INFORMATION: This reference travel type also allows referencing without enable.
  • Absolute position of encoder
  • With this reference travel type, only the reference bit is set and the current position of the encoder is adopted as the actual position. The reference travel type is only useful for encoders that have a direct reference to the system, such as linear encoders. The reference offset parameter is not used. Homing is not performed regardless of the setting of the "Go to home position" parameter.
